This hat was made using some special sinamay printed with a lovely black and natural coloured pattern. It has a trilby crown and a large gently upturned brim. The trimming is a sinamay band loosely wrapped and flying out at the side. Within this trim are some tiny red hearts on fine wire.

Here is a lovely hat made for a winter wedding to be worn with a vintage dress and jacket. The hat is made from sinamay, blocked in a saucer shape. I made the shape on a wooden block which I customised for the hat shape. The colour is oyster and is wired around the brim to get a good shape….

Think trilby

Although the sun is still out, the shops start to think of autumn and the cooler weather. This hat is a lovely trilby shape and is trimmed with a fine leather band, leather buttons and the striking lady amhurst feathers. This is a great look for the autumn wardrobe. Felt hats start at £60.

Wedding cake hat

I made this large straw hat using plant pots as mould for the hat shapes. It is very tall, a real balancing act to wear and decorated with tiny flowers just like a cake. It was worn for a hen party at Ascot!

Lots of fun with a black hat with a lovely twist of colour to add shape. Sculpting with sinamay is still a great way to add dynamic to a hat. You often see sinamay twists as the total decoration on a hat. A hat of this size and trim would start at £150.
